Changes to my Custom 7-11/KFC modular building in 2023

Hello brick fans!  Let's take a look at another one of my MOCs, this one being a modular building consisting of a 7-11 convenience store with an upstairs after school learning centre, and an adjoining KFC fried chicken pop up shop.

The last time I made changes to this building was way back in 2019 and then later I  integrated the 7-11 and KFC shops onto a single base plate.  Both of these shops have gone through a number of modifications from their humble beginnings.

In this latest change, I've put the buildings on raised base plates and changed the sidewalk colour from dark gray to light gray.

In order to include a bike share, I placed the KFC as far back as possible and raised it up for visibility.

There is a mailbox, an ATM, a garbage bin, a vending machine, a map of the city, and a bike-sharing station equipped with three bike slots.

The overhead signage for the 7-11 and KFC are from stickers that I bought .

The second floor over the 7-11 is an after school space for kids to do extra activities.

The staircase is used to reach the second floor.

Service door to the 7-11 is located in the back.  Kids can park their bikes and scooters under the staircase.

Here's some pics of the 7-11 interior.

Now, a few pics of the KFC ...

The colonel is outside promoting his famous fried chicken.

Inside is a small fryer, a service counter and condiments dispenser.

Some buckets and boxes are within easy reach of the cashier.  A glass partition protects customers from the cooking area.

Isn't it coincidental that Colonel Sanders looked like Stan Lee when he was younger? Maybe his real name was Colonel Standers!

Kiddies can practice their academic and artistic skills here.

Physical activity and socialization is also encouraged.

That concludes our tour of the 7-11/KFC/Kidscamp modular building.

It has become increasingly difficult to find the original Hsanhe sets on Aliexpress, which served as the foundation for my customised buildings.

You might find some similar buildings using the search term "Street View" on Aliexpress.

Thanks for looking!  Bye!

Hsanhe 6410-2 7-11 Convenience Store Modular Building gets an updated interior (not Lego MOC)

Hey there!  Welcome back to the Its Not Lego blog.  This week I  revisited the Hsanhe 6410-2 Convenience Store aka 7-11 Shop.   In case you're not familiar with this set, I posted about it here.

This is how the Hsanhe building looked when I first bought it two years ago.

Not long afterwards, I modified the original Hsanhe building set and made it into a 16x32 modular which I documented here

At the time, I only had enough brick parts to create a rudimentary interior and I had to leave the baseplate unfinished.  But, I finally got all the parts I needed to upgrade the 7-11 shop and so this week I sat down and completely rebuilt it.   Here's how it looks now.

The sidewalk in front of the convenience store has been tiled and the baseplate widened by 4 studs to accommodate the banking ATM ( inspired by the one found in the Lego promotional store 40305 / Lepin store 36013 sets).

A closer look at the ATM.

Out back, the service door is now covered by an awning and I took the recycle bin from the Parisian restaurant.

A closer look at the back of the store. I got rid of the street lamp that was previously next to the door.

Not much to see on this side of the store.

An overhead view.

The 2 piece roof removed to expose the new and improved interior.

The slurpee machine got a makeover and it's flanked by a magazine rack.

New orange and white flooring installed to give a more polished look.  There's El from Stranger Things who is buying her Eggo waffle.  The store keeper keeps the store nice and clean with the handy broom at his side.

There's so much more product on the shelves now.  The girl is having problems choosing the right item.

The cooler section is preserved from the previous build.

I was able to squeeze in an extra shelf of merchandise by the front door.

A few more looks around the inside.

The mailbox out front was lifted from the Sluban set M38-B0516.

Buddy, can you spare a dollar?  The light standard is a new addition.

Here's a final look at the 8 minifigures.  The outside ones include a lady at the mailbox, the Fanta store mascot, a down on his luck guy and girl using the ATM.

The four inside minifigures include girl at the shelves, Stranger Things El, and cooler boy and Zombie store clerk (both holdovers from the previous version).

This completes my review of all the changes to the Hsanhe 7-11 convenience store.  Please let me know what you think of the latest improvements.  Thanks for visiting!

Hsanhe 6410-2 Seven Convenience (7-11) converted to modular building (not Lego MOC)

Last month I reviewed the Hsanhe 6410-2 Seven Convenience Store Modular set.

This is how it looked after I finished building it.

Afterwards, my plan was to make the Seven convenience store a full modular building on a full 16x32 baseplate.  The rest of this post looks at how I modified to make it fit with the rest of my modular town.

The most important feature of the building is the colour scheme and the signage so I wanted to keep that intact.

For the rest of the building, it has been extended by another 12 studs to make it 18 studs deep.

I added a bit of a cornice under the facade and made it removable from the building.

I used window frames from a Bela Friends set but not sure if I might revert back to the original black frames that came with the set.

At the back, we have a door for deliveries, plus I added a light to keep the raccoons away from the garbage can.  You will probably notice that some of the white bricks have turned yellow.  Those ones are MegaBlocks bricks.  They are crappy but until I get some new white bricks, I am forced to use these ones.

Here's the roof top.  It's composed of two removable pieces.

As you saw earlier, the front facade can be totally removed.  Here I have just removed the back portion of the roof, so you can see the store interior.

I kept the checkout counter and added a more shelves with products.

I added a slurpee dispenser.

And a giant fridge for keeping things cold.

Here's a closer look at the Zombie minifigure I re-purposed as store clerk.

Just curious if anyone else out there has modified their Hsanhe sets to make them full modulars.  Please let me know.  Thanks for looking.
