How I made a not Lego Hospital from different sets

What is one to do when it is pouring rain outside?  For me, I decided to make a hospital scene using bricks from different sets and different brick brands.  In case you're a Lego purist, you better stop reading now, because none of this is real Lego.

This hospital scene consists of a two storey hospital, an ambulance and a helicopter, all in matching white and red colours.  There are six different rooms in this hospital.

On the second floor, there is a  private room where somebody is going to get an injection from the nurse.

The second floor also consists of an administration area, and a laboratory.  One of the lab technicians is using a microscope.

Downstairs is a waiting room with a patient waiting to be seen.

There is a main lobby and an empty room which I haven't decided what to use it for.  Maybe you can help me decide what to use it for?

Outside, there is an ambulance just dropping off a patient.

There's enough height in the ambulance to accommodate a standing minifigure.

In case of emergencies, there is a helicopter standing by.

Here's a look at the front of the hospital. It has an outside balcony on the second floor, a seating area and a small garden.  Entrance to the hospital is through the double doors.

For this scene, I used the following brick sets:

Wange Medical Hospital set 29162

Wange Medical Hospital set 27163

Star Diamond Ambulance set 82106

Sluban Helicopter set M38-B0363

The inspiration for my hospital was from the Wange Hospital 29162.  It had the 2 floors with bay window and double entry doors but not much else.  After I built the original set, I started to think about adding some extra rooms to make it more substantial.

I used another Wange set 27163 to build one of the hospital wings.  Although there are several other Wange medical sets, they are basically just variations of the 27163 set, just different rooms.  I had enough spare bricks to make the rest of the hospital so I decided not to buy the other Wange medical sets.

The ambulance I made is sourced from the Star Diamond set 82106 but I didn't keep the original design.  After I built the ambulance, I found it too small, so I extended the wheelbase making it longer.

Finally, the helicopter is from Sluban set M38-B0363, and it's pretty much original, I didn't change it.
I'm not a big fan of stickers, so I didn't apply any of the stickers that came with  any of the Wange, Star Diamond or Sluban sets.

Regarding the minifigures, the ones from Wange and Sluban are really crappy and not Lego compatible. The Star Diamond hospital doctor and nurse minifigures are pretty decent though.  The nurse minifigure in the back of the ambulance comes from Bozhi set 98057.

Thanks for looking!

Dargo Brand Star Wars Minifigures (not Lego) Set 850

This is a new bootleg brand for me, called Dargo.  They have done some superhero minifigures but I didn't get any of those because I wasn't sure if the quality was good or not.   I recently got this set of 8 Star Wars Clone Wars knockoff figures.  Set number is 850.

The set consists of 4 different Storm Troopers (top row) and Separatist Bounty Hunter, Anakin Skywalker, Darth Maul, and Darth Vader (bottom row).

Here's a look at the backsides. Although there's no leg or arm printing, they do have printing on the back of their torsos.

There's a few disparities in this set.  The lightsabers are all wrong for the characters.  Darth Maul is missing his cape.  Darth Vader's head should not be flesh coloured.  I think I put a Stormtrooper head on the Bounty Hunter by mistake.

The previous two pics show the backs of the minifigures.  The next few shots are closeups of each mini figure.

Darth Vader

Darth Maul

Anakin Skywalker

Clone Trooper

Bounty Hunter

Storm Trooper

Sand Trooper

Pilot Clone Trooper?

The helmets of the Clone Troopers are really bad.  There's no detail or texture to them, just some weird paint.  Can't say they do anything for me.  The torsos are detailed enough front and back and the designs look to be clear, even and free of smudges.

Here is the Dargo 850 set as listed on the Dargo website.   I hope all of the Dargo bootlegs are not this bad.  I bought these off Ali Express and paid about $5.20 USD for this set.  So not worth it.

I think there is another set with the same figures but by a different brand.  From what I've seen from pics, those ones have more accurate minifigures and details.  I'll have to see if I can find it for a good price.  Anyways, I give this set a mediorce score of 6 out of 10.

New Xinh brand of Not Lego Minifigures

I find it interesting and coincidental that the new brand Xinh seems to rise out of the ashes of Decool's demise.

While previously known for the 4 Ghostbusters mini figures, Xinh is now the best maker of Star Wars minifigure bootlegs.   These mini figures use the standard stud attachment between the legs and the torso, most commonly seen in Lego and Sheng Yuan mini figures.

While it wasn't really known for super heroes minifigs, there is a curious Xinh set which I picked up last month.  It is an eight figure set, that includes Lois Lane, Harley Quinn, Red Skull, Silver Surfer, Cyborg, Ghost Rider, Hawkman and Arsenal.  They are all very high quality.

If you are familiar with Decool mini figures, you'll know that they have a proprietary method of attaching the legs to the torso via blades instead of studs.

When I took apart the Xinh super heroes set, what I found was that they were using Decool molds with the same blade inserts.   Interesting!

Only four of the mini figures in this set have double sided heads, Ghost Rider, Silver Surfer, Harley Quinn and Red Skull are only one sided.

Another interesting note is that the Xinh XH172 Red Skull appears to be identical to Decool 0171 Red Skull.  It's quite possible that Xinh XH175 Hawkman and XH174 Cyborg could be re-issues of Decool 202 and 203 respectively, however I don't have the Decool 0199-0204 set to verify.

Here's the model numbers based on what I could find from Ali Express.

XH104 Harley Quinn
XH172 Red Skull
XH173 Arsenal
XH174 Cyborg
XH175 Hawkman
XH176 Lois Lane
XH177 Silver Surfer
XH179 Ghost Rider

As always, thanks for visiting Its Not Lego and See you next time!

Sluban M38-B0531 Hotel Preview

Saw this new Sluban set on Ali express for about $35 USD.  I might buy it in future if the price drops under $20 US. It has 541 pieces and 5 mini figures.  It also comes with a small convertible and a bicycle.  I don't like the mini figures because they don't look compatible with the Lego style of figures.

Sheng Yuan SY258 SY259 Heroes Assemble Minifigures preview

Sheng Yuan has released some new sets of Super Heroes mini figures for 2015.  The series is called Heroes Assemble SY259 and there a total of 16 figures.

The first 4 minifigures are:  Hawkeye, yellow Deadpool, Phoenix and Red Robin.  I would only want yellow Deadpool and Red Robin, since I already have the Decool versions of Hawkeye and Phoenix.

Next up is Plastic man, Daredevil, Loki and Magneto.  Again I'm only interested in Plastic Man and Daredevil. I already have Magneto and more than one Loki figure.

I want all of the above! Hawkeye, Galactus, Cybord and Nova are figures I don't have yet.

The last four are Beast, Ant man, Green Arrow and Wolverine.  I have Decool versions of Green Arrow and Wolverine.  Need the Beat and Ant man for sure.  I put my order in but it will probably take a month before I get them. Arggh.

Brand: Sheng Yuan
Set:  Heroes Assemble SY258 SY259
