Hsanhe 6411-2 McDonalds restaurant MOC modular building gets a drive thru lane!

Hey, what's up, brick fans?  Today I'd like to give you a look at the latest updates to my McDonalds modular building.

Here's a bit of background about this modular if you are new here.  The Hsanhe brick brand made a set of six small store fronts, each having about 200 pieces and included 2 minifigures.  I bought all six of the sets back in July 2016 and have since incorporated those shops into larger modulars or have made them into their own small modular buildings.

The McDonalds modular started life as one of those sets.  If you'd like to see how it has evolved in my not Lego brick collection, feel free to check out my other posts.

Anyways, let's take a look at the latest enhancements!

In case, you haven't guessed, it's the addition of an actual drive thru lane. The lane widens the former baseplate by about 8 studs.  Although it seems trivial, the modification required me to rip out the previous baseplates and interior.  I used the 8x16 stud smooth surface baseplates from a couple of old Kazi brand fire station sets.

I added an extension and post over the drive thru lane to provide some continuity to the Mcdonalds restaurant.  I also made some minor changes to the takeout window, but I might have to adjust the height again.  I dunno, what do you think?  Is it too high or is it ok as is?

At the rear of the building, I added a new extension and repositioned the back door to open off to the side.  I made the awning 5 studs wide to cover the entire back door.  The rear extension is supposed to provide a secure room for supplies and deliveries  instead of just leaving them out in the open like that gray container.

The final modifications I made to the McDonalds restaurant was to add bigger picture windows to both sides of the building.  Initially I had planned for this building to be sandwiched in between other buildings, but with the added glazing, this modular could be placed as a stand-alone unit in a city layout.

I used smooth tiles over the picture windows so that I could just pop them out for easier access to parts of the restaurant.

Here's an overhead shot of the building with roof removed.  Tiling the extended are off the back is low priority and I'll probably get to it soon, unless I decide to re-do the back area.

Other than that the interior remains the same as before with a seating area and stand up counter with trash bin.  And yes, I still need to make/print some stickers for the menu signage over the counter.

No changes to the roof either. It comes off in two pieces.

I'm pleased to report that there has been no turn over of the staff at the McDonalds since the last time we looked in and everyone continues to be fairly happy in their job.

Patrons come and go, so we get some regular guests and some new guests.

We got a small party of seniors visiting today plus the airline pilot who is picking up some takeout from the drive thru in his sporty convertible.

Here's a few more shots.

Thanks for popping by and see you next time!

Hsanhe 6411-2 McDonalds gets a new interior (not Lego MOC)

Hello again!  I'm back to show you my latest mods to my Hsanhe 6411-2 McDonalds restaurant.   The last time I changed this Lego style MOC modular building was about a year ago, when I extended the back of the restaurant from its original design.  Let's take a look at the latest changes.

Two new minifigures welcome you to the McDonalds;  Ronald and the Fry guy.

Minor modifications to the exterior of the building include relocation of the trash can to the outside, some patio tile adjustments and an additional row of yellow bricks under the roof line to accommodate the interior signage.

The takeout window has been raised a bit since last year.

Not much has been done to the rear of the building.

The Hsanhe McDonalds with the roof removed.

The most significant change to the interior is the addition of new flooring.  It really lightens up the inside of the restaurant.

I added a cross beam along the top to allow for the menu signs, now I just have to find some images and stick them to the white signboards (future project).

In addition to the outdoor seating, a new table has been added on the inside.  There's two minifigure patrons enjoying their meal.

There were already two eating counters before, but one used to be longer than the other, so now with the inclusion of the new seating, they are both symmetrical now.   Another two minifigure patrons are featured above.

Here's another look at the sign board which I mentioned earlier.  There's a mustard and ketchup dispensers next to the order counter.   Looks like he ordered all the expensive items on the menu.

The store manager minifigure is new.  He used to be the old Fry guy but he got a promotion.

The serving counter is now configured in an L shape.  There's one of the employee minifigs getting the takeout order ready.  I made the order counter bigger to allow two minifigs to work together comfortably.

Not much has changed in the cooking area.  That's the original minifig that came with the set cooking the food.  I gave him a spatula so he could flip the burgers.  I added some vents above for better air quality.

Your takeout order is ready now.

Just peeking in the back door.

Hope you have enjoyed looking at the latest changes to the Hsanhe Mcdonalds restaurant.  Let me know what you think!   Thanks for looking and see you soon.

Got the Fry Guy for my McDonalds MOC - PG1235

Hi there, I added a new minifigure to my Hsanhe MOC McDonalds.  It's the Fry guy on the left.  He's manufactured by Pogo - PG1235.  He joins my Kopf branded Ronald McDonald minifig KF947.
If you're looking for this minifig on Aliexpress, you can either search for the lone figure using PG1235 or you can search for the set of three minifigs (Fry guy, Pizza guy and Ice Cream guy) using code PG8114.

I changed the minifig to use a yellow torso and red pants that matches the mascot outfit.  I also used a different head on my minifig.

Hsanhe 6411-2 McDonalds Restaurant converted into a modular building (not Lego MOC)

I've featured my modded Hsanhe 6411-2 Fast Food (McDonalds) restaurant in many of my blog posts about Its-Not-Lego town but just realized I never reviewed the modifications I made to the original model. If you haven't seen my review of the Hsanhe Fast Food Restaurant, you can find it here.

I didn't change the front facade of the fast food restaurant from it's original design except that I changed the pavement to use up some of the black minifig plates I have so many of.

You can see here, how I've increased the depth of the restaurant to make it fit on a 16x32 baseplate.  I didn't have enough red bricks so I had to use some Sluban bricks which are a deeper red.  I'll swap those out when I get some new bricks.  There's windows on each side of the building.

Hmm, can't tell if my picture is out of focus or the window glass is foggy.

On the other side of the restauarant is an even bigger window and a takeout window.

More mis-matched bricks, sorry.

You can see where the original Hsanhe building ended and the new extension begins.  I also added an air conditioning unit to the roof.

At the back we've got a service door with awning, and a garbage can and container.  Got some weeds growing in the back.

I think my takeout window is a tad too low, I'll revise it soon.

Ok, let's check out the interior.  I made it so the roof comes off in two parts.

Here's the two roof panels removed.

The restaurant has a counter with two staff and two eating counters along the side walls.

I added 5 new customers in addition to the one that came with the set.  He's the one seated outside.

The original cooking area has been retained.

And also the order counter which is also next to the takeout window.

One thing I need to improve is to put up signage over the length of the counter.  Gotta find me some stickers of some menu items.

Here's a few more pics of my modded Hsanhe restaurant.

After I took most of the pics, I decided to make a trash can and put it at the entrance.  As always, thanks for visiting Its Not Lego and See you next time!
