Keep on Trucking

Hey All, just wanted to do a little picture show today.  I have all these cool city and delivery vehicles which drive around Its-Not-Lego town to bring in supplies and keep the town clean.

This is the Enlighten brand Garbage Truck and Street Cleaner.  Model 1101.

Also by Enlighten, this nifty Ice Cream Truck. Model 1112.

An Express delivery truck by Enlighten.  Model 1119.

This tractor trailer is from Wange.  Model 40615.

This small delivery truck is from Kazi. Model 6093.

This super long truck and trailer is also by Wange.  Model 40616.

This utility truck is by Sluban.  It's from the Tower Crane set B0555.

And finally, the Lepin City Truck. Model 02036.

As you can see, I still have a few more reviews to do, so hopefully I will get to that soon.  Bye for now.

My Collection of Lego and Non Lego Fire Rescue Building Sets

Today, I'll be showing you my small collection of Fire and Rescue building sets.  Most of them are not Lego but I do have a few Lego sets as well.   The little utility vehicle above comes from the Kazi 8052 Fire Station set.

This is the Fire Department Car, model 8057, also by Kazi.  You can tell the Kazi models by the crappy wheels that they come with.  I believe this is a copy of an older Lego model.

Another Kazi model, this one is model 8055. It's a Fire Department pickup truck with trailer. This is a near bootleg of Lego model 7942.

This was my first Gudi model fire truck 9209.  I like that it's wheels are similar to that of Lego models.

This model is the Fire Truck model 8054 by Kazi.

Another Gudi brand fire apparatus,  this fire truck is from the Fire Rescuer set 9215.

I modified this Kazi 8053 Fire Snorkel model by extending the cab.

Here's an actual Lego model in my collection.  It's the Fire Truck from the Fire Emergency set 60003.

Here's my other Lego model.  It's the Fire Department Helicopter 7206.

The Kazi Fire Station 8052.

As part of my Fire Marine unit, this model is from Gudi 9213.

And finally, this big Fire and Rescue ship, by Enlighten, model 909.  Despite it's massive size it only has 361 pieces.

I have a soft spot for Fire and Rescue Apparatus as you can tell from my building block collection.   I also collect Fire Engine Diecast models which you can find on my other blog:

Just curious, does anyone else collect Fire and Rescue building sets or diecast?  Please leave me a comment below.

Thanks for visiting!!

Kazi 8055 Not Lego Fire Utility Vehicle set review

Here's another Kazi set from the Fire Fight series.  This one is a nifty little pickup truck with trailer.

I was surprised that the ebay seller shipped the box too, although it got pretty munched during transit.  I took pictures of it before I threw it out.

These are the one page instructions and below is the contents of the box.

Just some shots of the pieces.

Assembly of the 140 plus parts was quite easy.  Would have been better if it had the opening doors.

I think they gave me an extra arm and hand, which I threw into the pickup bed.  The little accessories include the fire mask and breathing apparatus, the extinguisher, a saw, a walkie talkie and a power generator in the trailer.  The trailer also has extra cubbies for storage.

Brand: Kazi
Series: Fire Fight
Model: 8055 Pickup Truck
Pieces: 143+
Would I recommend this set?  No, because it smells like gasoline.

Kazi 8042 Not Lego Bulldozer Set Review

Got my first Kazi construction vehicle this week.  It's part of the City Build series, number 8042.

The seller was kind enough to ship the box, but my mailman crunched it all to hell.  On the back of the box, it shows other sets in the City Build series including a Forklift, Dump truck and Crane.  I have the Forklift and Dump Truck coming soon.

Here's the contents of the box. Five plastic bags and an instruction sheet.  No stickers with this set.

Front page of the instructions.

Back page of the instructions.

Yet again, like the other Kazi sets I got, this one also smells like gasoline.

I think the smell is strongest from the rubber tires, so I definitely recommend washing the parts in hot soapy water before handling.

The shovel clutch is good and it doesn't slip when loaded up.  The Kaiyu Engineering logo is printed on the bricks on both sides. No cheap stickers here.

The front wheels are hinged.

Not sure why the construction worker mini figure has a tie on.

Overall the set is good, except I don't like how the roof is installed. It's difficult to put the mini figure in and out of the bulldozer.  I'll probably make a hinged roof in future.

The Kazi bulldozer is a direct copy of the Lego Front-End Loader 7630 set.

Brand: Kazi
Set: 8042 City Build
Number of Pieces:  117 pcs.
Minifigs: 1
Would I recommend this set?  No, unfortunately it smells too much of gasoline.

Kazi 8057 Not Lego Fire Fighting Car Set Review

This is the Kazi Fire Fighting car, set number is 8057. It that comes with a fireman mini figure and an assortment of accessories.  The set has 83 pieces according to the box. It's the first Kazi set that I bought.

The fireman mini figure comes in a black outfit with yellow safety stripes.  His helmet is gray and he comes with an oxygen tank, breathing apparatus and visor also.

Here's a look at the front of the car.  I'm not fond of the blue windows, wish they were clear instead.

And here's the rear.

The trunk gate lifts up so you can stash the fireman's equipment.  Guess that makes this car a hatchback.

He's got an ax mounted on the outside.

And a fire extinguisher.  Hey! put that extra one back in the station.

The only drawback with Kazi blocks is that they smell like gasoline, so it's advisable to wash them right away with hot soapy water as soon as you get them.  If you don't, you might catch fire like the Torch!

Series: 8057 Fire Fighting
Pieces: 83

Would I recommend this set?  No, because the bricks smell like gasoline.
